I thought you might enjoy this funny story shared by a friend who teaches kindergarten.
She had received a little boy in her room about half way through the year who had been in another room at that same school. So many changes had happened in that room that the administration thought a classroom change might be good for him. So he was moved to her room and was doing well. One day he had to be disciplined for a behavior choice he had made and the teacher was quite worried about how he was going to handle the change as this had been some of the problem in his previous room. But thankfully, he was fine and the day proceeded.
However, the next morning he showed up at the door of his old classroom and said "I am back!". He had decided he didn't want to go back to his new classroom anymore so he would just go back to his old one!
I guess we never know how students really internalize the discipline we administer!
